Nava Udhyamsala - Business Incubation Program Rupandehi was initiated on 5 March 2020 thereby forming a consortium among four key partners - Butwal chamber of commerce & industry (BuCCI), Lumbini Banijya Campus, Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs Forum (NYEF) Rupandehi chapter and Antarprerana. The program was designed to equip existing entrepreneurs as well as aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and network required for strengthening their business or transforming their ideas into businesses and steps towards sustainable growth.
In this program, a series of master classes for entrepreneurs had been conducted in the past few months on different topics related to business management such as Golden Circle & Value Proposition, Customer Segment, Customer Relationship and Channel, Cost Structure and Revenue. It also includes a Business Health Check-up of the participants to identify their progress and key challenges to incorporate them during the sessions.
In addition to that, a ToT (Training of Trainers) for mentors was also conducted to capacitate matched mentors to support their mentees/entrepreneurs. Each company was provided with a local mentor who constantly guided the entrepreneurs to solve their business challenges and meet the set milestones. The master classes were held virtually complying with mobility restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ongoing students from Lumbini Banijya Campus termed as “start-up fellows” were selected, oriented and matched with entrepreneurs such that they can get the first-hand experience of business management as well as enhance the cross-learning experience with the entrepreneurs and real businesses. At present, start-up fellows are actively engaged in creating a Business Plan for their matched entrepreneurs.
As we are towards the end of the program, we are planning to organize a Haat bazaar and Demo day for our participants to showcase their learnings.
